How to Baptize
We are commanded to baptize by threefold immersion in
water, in the name of the Holy Trinity. The Scriptures and the
writings of the church affirm this.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I
have commanded you.

In regard to BaptismÁ-¦baptize thus: After the foregoing instructions,
baptize in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit, in living water. If you have no living water, then baptize in
other water; and if you are not able in cold, then in warm. If you have
neither, pour three times on the head, in the Name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Before the Baptism, let the one
baptizing and the one to be baptized fast, as also any others who are
able. Command the one who is to be baptized to fast beforehand for
one or two days.

I will also relate the manner in which we dedicated ourselves to God
when we had been made new through Christ; lest, if we omit this, we
seem to be unfair in the explanation we are making. As many as are
persuaded and believe that what we teach and say is true, and
undertake to be able to live accordingly, are instructed to pray and to
entreat God with fasting, for the remission of their sins that are past,
