The First Prayer of the Faithful
Priest:
We thank Thee, O Lord God of Hosts, who
hast vouchsafed us to stand even now before Thy
Holy Altar, and to fall down before Thy compassion
for our sins, and for the errors of the people.
Receive, O God, our supplication; make us to be
worthy to offer unto Thee supplications and
entreaties and bloodless sacrifices for all Thy
people. And enable us whom Thou hast placed in
this Thy ministry, by the power of Thy Holy Spirit,
without condemnation or faltering, with the clear
witness of our conscience, to call upon Thee at all
